Joan Nealon

With 20 years of hands-on media leadership experience, Joan leads our most senior media searches, from AMD to Executive and C-level.  She genuinely partners with clients and candidates, focused on making enduring professional “marriages”, not just a job match.  She takes what she does personally, striving to always find the right person for the role, and vice versa. Joan worked in both Planning and Buying, and was a pioneer in 360 Communications Planning – she has a deep understanding of the business.  And, because she knows the business inside and out, she “gets” her client's needs, what makes their company, culture or client relationships unique – and what candidates will best meet their needs.

Joan spent the early years of her career at some of the biggest names in advertising, including Ogilvy & Mather, Ammirati & Puris and DMB&B.  As a partner at O’Hare, Joan works to balance a strategic yet perceptive approach.  She takes a good look at what’s needed but experience has taught her to sometimes go with her gut.  With a huge range of contacts, she sometimes finds a perfect match that may not have been the expected one.

As a piano performance major at Marywood College, Joan learned discipline and focus. To this day, she hones those skills with daily practice on the ivories.  On weekends you can find her out and about in New York City with her husband and two boys.
